Structural Differences: Upper and lower non-magnetic drill rods have basically the same structure, both consisting of a drill rod body, drill bit, and connecting pipe. The main difference lies in the magnetic components. The drill rod body and drill bit of an upper non-magnetic drill rod are non-magnetic, while the drill bit and connecting pipe of a lower non-magnetic drill rod are non-magnetic.

Application Differences: Upper and lower non-magnetic drill rods also differ in their application range. Generally, upper non-magnetic drill rods are mostly used for shallow or surface geological exploration, such as measuring surface soil and water samples. Lower non-magnetic drill rods are mainly used for deep geological exploration, such as coal exploration and geothermal exploration.

Working Efficiency Differences: Upper and lower non-magnetic drill rods also differ in working efficiency. Generally, upper non-magnetic drill rods have a faster drilling speed, but they have some limitations in deep exploration. The lower non-magnetic drill rod uses a more robust connection method and is more adaptable, but its drilling speed is relatively slower.

In summary, the choice between upper and lower non-magnetic drill rods in actual exploration work depends on the specific circumstances. If the exploration depth is not very deep and the process is sensitive to magnetic interference, then the upper non-magnetic drill rod is a good choice; if the exploration depth is relatively deep and high exploration accuracy is required, then the lower non-magnetic drill rod can be considered.
